Christmas sewing

Some super cute Riley Blake snowman fabric from USA arrived in the mail today- I've washed, dried and made some little pants out of it for Livinia. I'm about to start a matching dress for Evie.

Sandpit

My dad spent this afternoon constructing a sandpit in our backyard for the girls Christmas present. It will get some sand in it next weekend. Andrew has finished installing the rainwater tank now, and in this last week, has almost filled up- that's 4,500 litres of water for the garden. Should be a bit easier to grow our own food this summer.
Liv is becoming more mobile now, she's figured out how to get up the step to the kitchen (in order to chase the cat). 2 1/2 weeks until she's 1! Eek!

Kindergarten

Evie had her 1st kinder orientation today, I had to drag her home kicking and screaming she loved it so much! I hope she's ok with being left there next year.

Myer Christmas windows

The girls, mum and I went on the train today to Melbourne, to see the Myer Christmas windows, this year's theme was Olivia the Pig. Evie quite likes Olivia, so this was a treat for her.

Too hot

We've jumped straight to summer here it seems, with temperatures well into the 30's since Saturday, and no real change in sight. The garden has already dried out, and the grass/weeds are dying. Most of my hardy plants are surviving, with the sunflowers doing well next to the concrete path. Our natives up the back are doing well, especially the red kangaroo paws. The tank is in position now, just needs to be plumbed.
This cheeky monkey can't be left alone very much now, lest she fall and crack her head on the slate floor behind her! She's pulling herself up on everything. No crawling yet though.
