Bits and bobs

Owl & baby from Bride & Wolfe

"I wish I was a real girl" wall hanging by LoveHate, from Design Doctor
Flying ducks from Delilah Devine

I've been doing a little decorating around the house (hopefully Andrew will see this before he boards a plane to come home so he won't be shocked!), there is also a small section of wall paper behind the TV that I'm not sure how to photograph well (not that the above photos are great). After 3 years in this house (we got the keys 8/8/08), I'm really feeling the need to make it ours, with a few quirky features. Actually, I'm getting sick of the word quirky after Josh & Jenna have used it so much on The Block
Everything you see here is from Australian artists, and handmade.
Might have to post some more photos later, have a kids party to attend...

Mmm, new fabric!

Weekend parcel deliveries are great at Christmas! This morning there was a parcel of new fabric waiting for me in the letterbox, inside a recycled paper envelope, from Ink & Spindle. It's 2 pieces of hand screen printed birch forest fabric, by the talented Lara Cameron, and some natural basecloth, made from cotton and linen. The Ink & Spindle girls print their fabrics in Melbourne (not too far from here), with environmentally friendly solvent free inks, and they are carbon neutral. So I'm happy to be supporting them.

Stay tuned to see what I turn this fabric into...

Saffron Craig dress

Another project I'm working on, showcasing Australian designed fabrics, this beautiful 'Dandelion Fields' fabric is by Saffron Craig from Sydney. I'll be working on some more dresses shortly in hand screen printed fabric by some girls from Melbourne. This dress is size 4, and is now in my Etsy shop.
