School Holidays

The kids have been back at school for a week and a half, and I haven't blogged for months, but anyway, here's some highlights from the holidays!  The order of my photos has been jumbled, but here's Liv, who got to fulfill her wish of a horse ride (pony), at Koombahla park in Wallington.

And Evie with her new bike that she got for her 9th birthday.

Christmas in Tasmania part 1

We spent 6 nights in Hobart over Christmas, our longest family holiday so far!  We've been having trouble loading photos, so here's the first installment, our trip to the Farm Gate farmer's market in Hobart.  Crowds of people were buying all their fresh produce for Christmas, the queues for raspberries and cherries were ridiculous!  We bought amazing apricots, milk, yoghurt and cheese, apple cider, carrots, lettuce and honey.  We later bought cherries and apples off the side of the road in Huonville.  We also had lunch in Cygnet at the Red Velvet Lounge, and saw Gourmet Farmer's (Matthew Evans) partner and mum in the main street.  It was a bit of a Gardening Australia/Gourmet Farmer inspired holiday really.

Our little trip

This is the Eastern most point of Australia, at Byron Bay. We had a long weekend holiday there last weekend, we stayed at Lennox Head, about 15 minutes south of Byron Bay. It was a lovely relaxing weekend, we'd never been to that part of Australia, so there was a bit of exploring to be done. We went to a great market in Byron Bay on the Sunday...we might need to go back sometime.
The Cape Byron Lighthouse
Lennox Head
And Evie, who fell asleep just as we pulled into Byron Bay. We gave her Phenergan as she often gets car sick, and were hoping that she would become drowsy and fall asleep for the 2 hour journey, one of the happy side effects of the medicine. Unfortunately she stayed quite alert until the last 5 minutes.
