Best Dressed 2013

Kid Independent has organised an online event called Best Dressed 2013, in which a different dress is featured each day in March, to be sold and the proceeds go to the Cuddle Craft Collective's "Keep kids in school" project.  Today my Aviary dress is featured here

From Kid Independent:
"The funds raised through “Best Dressed 2013″ will be used by World Families Australia to educate a group of children from a small community in Liwan, Ethiopia. These children come from illiterate families and are among the FIRST to be educated. They are the future doctors, nurses, teachers, etc in their village and their education will not only change their own lives but the lives of their families, their local community and future generations."

What a great project to support.  If you have a daughter, granddaughter, niece or friend who would love this dress for their birthday or even Christmas, now is a great time to support such a worthy cause.

Raising money for Queensland flood relief

I think you'd be sitting under a rock if you haven't heard about the devastating floods happening in Queensland at the moment, the lives lost, the massive damage bill. Toni is organising a list of auctions, raffles and fixed price items via blogs and Facebook, so I'm holding a raffle to raise funds for the premier's flood relief appeal. This upcycled woollen blanket dress in your choice of children's size 2-5 is up for grabs. All you have to do is donate $5 (or more! each $5 you donate gets you an extra entry) via the link above, then come back to this post and leave your name and email address in the comments section.
